THE UNWILLING HIPSTERS

The project brief was to create a book that explains, questions or challenges the concept of a culture. To me, a culture would be a social community that physically exists in different parts of the world. With that, I went on to brainstorm about the interesting factors regarding different cultures. Not just any culture, but a culture that is so uniquely intriguing that it stimulates the brain of anybody who tries to grasp the basic concept of it. A culture that exists near us, yet seem so tough to understand. Keeping these criteria in mind, I finally settled with a culture that revolves around myself; The Hipster Culture.

This series of 5 booklets dissects and examines 5 individual local artists that are deemed fashionable in the industry. It also serve to determine what exactly do people mean when they call one another a 'hipster'.
